Experience Flaherty's… a True Fish House

Ken Spilfogel began his hospitality career at the tender age of 11 and has been a restaurant owner since 1984. He's applied everything he learned over those years into Flaherty's Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar. "We are a true fish house," Ken says. "Fresh fish is flown in daily from all over the world in addition to coming direct from the boats of Monterey Bay. We buy fresh fish literally every day of the week."

The owner describes his family-friendly establishment as "a comfort food house with a large fish selection and prime steaks at very fair prices." And with the recently added outdoor seating area, Flaherty's is also dog friendly as well.

When asked to name Flaherty's signature dish, Ken is at a loss to name just one. "Our customers say that our cioppino is the best between here and San Francisco," he says. "We've won awards for our lobster bisque, and we feature live lobster and Dungeness crab. It doesn't get any fresher than that." Of course, oysters are a huge draw here. They're sourced from all over the United States and are kept in a special filtering tank.

The eatery is in two sections, one featuring a full bar. A native New Yorker, Ken remodeled one section of Flaherty's in a style based on the famous Fulton's Fish Market in the Bronx. Look for a Happy Hour coming soon centered around Flaherty's famous oyster selection.

At Flaherty's, service is second to none. "Our servers have been here forever," Ken says. "We appreciate our customers and we don't mind telling them so."

11:30am - 8:30pm Sunday-Thursday, and 11:30 am - 9:00 pm Friday and Saturday.
