Carmel Culinary Week returns January 14-23, 2022

Over the past several years, Carmel-by-the-Sea has been recognized for its rich culinary scene and divine wine region -- and with more restaurants per capita than any small city in the U.S., we're proud to showcase local flavors and seasonal specials for locals and visitors on a daily basis.

This acceleration of food excellence has led us to celebrate California's Restaurant Month with the second annual Carmel-by-the-Sea Culinary Week, "The Art of the Plate." This ten-day celebration will showcase both international and regional flavors by our local chefs and restaurateurs from January 14 - 23, 2022.

With captivating food experiences, exclusive prix fixe menus, and lively demonstrations, 27 participating restaurants will have a little something for everyone. Here is just a taste (no pun intended) into the eclectic experiences that Carmel Culinary Week has to offer.

Barmel

On Saturday, January 15, take advantage of a special Whisky Tasting Table, complete with five whiskey samplings, plus education and small bites.

Cafe Luna

As a participating restaurant in Carmel Culinary Week, Cafe Luna will be hosting a potsticker-making masterclass on Saturday, January 15.

Cultura Carmel

Join Cultura Carmel for their Destilado De Agave Seminar on Friday, January 21, with a guided guest lecture by agave expert Marsella Marcias, tasting grid of 4-5 expressions, and welcome cocktails with snacks and tacos.

Flaherty's

Flaherty's is partnering with the Carmel Youth Center on Sunday, January 16, for an educational event for parents and children to learn the art of pizza. Proceeds benefit the Carmel Youth Center.

Stationæry

Stationæry will host a pop-up dinner with a Michelin-rated chef on Tuesday, January 18. A passion project of Jonny and Monique Black, they welcome the local community to experience the earliest stages of their upcoming seafood-centric restaurant, Chez Noir, opening in 2022.

La Balena

Pies and Pinot, anyone? Food Network Pastry Chef Michelle Lee will be hosting a Pop-Up Bake Sale at La Balena on Thursday, January 20.

Vesuvio & Little Napoli

For Carmel Culinary Week, take the Ravioli Challenge and enter to win a $250 gift certificate.
