In addition, experience culinary events, special offers, and curated menus at more than 30 different restaurants in this walkable village by the sea.

Translation: You'll want to leave time to wander, so stay at Carmel hotels to be in the heart of all the action.

  3. What does my ticket include?

If you have a ticket to one or more of our signature events (Party at the Plaza, La Dolce Vita, Soiree by the Sea, and Boho Bites & Beats), your ticket includes admission to the event you selected, plus whatever deliciousness comes with it—tastings, beverages, entertainment, chef experiences, or surprises depending on the event.

If you hold a VIP ticket or Culinary Masterpiece Pass, you get 30-minutes early access to the signature events.

  4. Do I need to print my ticket? How do I receive my credentials?

No need to print tickets! Just have your confirmation email and your driver's license ready. When you check-in to the signature events, you will receive the credential, wristband, and a wine glass.

  5. What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 20–30 minutes early, so you can check-in, settle-in, snap a few photos, and start enjoying yourself.

  6. How do I get to and around Carmel-by-the-Sea?

Here are directions and maps helpful whether you are coming from the North or the South.

  7. Where should I park?

Parking in Carmel is limited, and popular events mean spots go fast.

Free, 2-hour curbside parking is available on every block of the central business district. Free, unlimited-time parking is available at the following locations:

    • Public Parking Map (Add Graphic)
      • Free lots at Visita Lobos and Sunset Center
      • Paid parking at Carmel Plaza
    • Street Parking (Maybe add color to the map)
      • 2-hour parking throughout the business district
      • All-day parking outside of the business district in the residential areas

    Best parking tips:

    • Arrive early
    • Park once and walk the village
    • Carpool with friends
    • Use Uber, Lyft or taxis to and from Carmel

Bonus: Carmel is one of the best walking towns anywhere.

  8. What should I wear?

    Think coastal chic meets comfortable.

    Great choices:

    • Smart casual outfits
    • Comfortable shoes (our streets are charmingly uneven)
    • Layers for cool evenings
    • Sunglasses and/or a hat for sunny afternoons
    • A jacket for after dark

You're in Carmel—effortless style always works.

  9. What's the weather like in June?

    Usually beautiful and mild.

    Expect:

    • Daytime: 60s
    • Evenings: cooler
    • Possible morning fog
    • Fresh ocean air all day long

    Layers = your best friend.

  10. Is alcohol permitted?

Alcohol is permitted at some events for on-site consumption only. Guests may not remove alcoholic beverages from the premises, nor may alcohol be distributed or accepted as gifts.

  11. Do I need ID?

If alcohol is being served and you'd like to enjoy it: yes please. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

  12. Can I bring my dog?

We love dogs (this is Carmel, after all), but ticketed events typically allow only service animals unless otherwise noted.

  13. Are tickets refundable or transferable?

Tickets are generally non-refundable and non-transferable, unless otherwise stated. If there are changes to an event, ticket holders will be contacted directly. Check your confirmation email for details.

  14. What if I have dietary restrictions?

Many events offer a variety of options, but menus vary by venue.

If you have allergies or dietary needs, we recommend inquiring at the specific restaurant you plan to visit. As for the signature events, we can't accommodate special dietary requests.

  15. Will there be vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options?

Often yes—but it depends on the event. Carmel chefs are wonderfully creative.

  16. How much walking should I expect?

A fair amount—and that's part of the fun.

Carmel is a storybook walking village, so comfortable shoes are strongly encouraged.

  17. Is seating guaranteed?

Not always. Some events are cocktail-style, strolling tastings, or standing receptions with limited seating. Check individual event details for more info.

  18. Can I take photos?

    Absolutely. Please do.

Tag @VisitCarmel and #CarmelCulinaryWeek on your favorite moments, dishes, sunsets, and champagne cheers.

  19. What if it rains?

Most events happen rain or shine, with adjustments if needed.

A little coastal mist has never stopped a good party.

  20. Can I attend more than one event?

    Yes—and honestly, that's the move.

Many guests create their own Culinary Week itinerary and enjoy several experiences throughout the week.

  21. Should I stay overnight?

Highly recommended. Choose from our 42 unique charming boutique hotels and inns. Book direct with hotels for best rates and service.
