Carmel-by-the-Sea Carmel Artists - Kathy Sharpe
Those who visit the Kathy Sharpe Studio and Gallery will find a welcoming environment and a charming hostess. The artist notes that when a visitor leaves with one of her works, it is usually for one of several reasons. "Generally, they have a place for it," Sharpe says. "They can just relate to it and love it for some reason."
Sharpe spent her adult life in the Bay Area with her husband, a Nobel Prize winner in economics who taught at Stanford, before they moved to Carmel almost 20 years ago. Since 1990, she has worked on watercolor, oil, and pastel paintings. A lot of her art finds Sharpe interpreting "the complexity of gardens."
The artist says she is inspired to paint brightly colored objects. "It just makes me feel right," Sharpe says. A visit to Sharpe's Gallery will make visitors feel the same way.
For a truly hands-on experience, Kathy Sharpe conducts painting workshops with instruction by appointment. Please contact the artist a month in advance. Most workshops average $100/person and include all supplies.
