Carmel-by-the-Sea Restaurants - Patisserie Boissiere Restaurant
You'll Feel Transported to Europe when Dining at Patisserie Boissiere
Patisserie Boissiere was founded in 1960. Elaine and Pierre Boissiere, a couple from Orleans, France established their eponymous restaurant at its current location, years before Carmel Plaza shopping center was built around it. They sought to offer the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea a relaxing and comforting venue modeled after a European chateau where tables are thoughtfully spaced and fresh flowers, fireplace, candles and soothing musical notes are integral part of the dining experience. The ambience sets the tone for French country food served with a great deal of care for detail and pastries baked daily on premises. It is a testament to their far sightedness that Patisserie Boissiere Restaurant continues to fulfill their vision to this day.
Today, Patisserie Boissiere counts among its signature dishes the Gallic classics French Onion Soup and Beef Bourguignon plus the decidedly California-influenced Crab and Avocado Salad. Guests ove the combination of consistent food and find the ambience comfortable and comforting.
In its nearly six decades of existence Patisserie Boissiere has earned a loyal following of diners who appreciate fine French cuisine.
Patisserie Boissiere is truly a Carmel institution.
